School Scholarships Inc. is organized as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving an educational mission.
Our initial focus is helping eligible students and families across Texas access qualified K–12 education expenses.
Clear eligibility, careful stewardship, and straightforward updates will guide the program as details are finalized.
Beginning in 2027, Internal Revenue Code Section 25F creates a federal income tax credit for eligible cash contributions to participating Scholarship Granting Organizations.
Eligible taxpayers may receive a nonrefundable federal credit of up to $1,700 for qualified cash contributions.
Approved nonprofits receive qualified gifts and award scholarships under federal and state requirements.
Scholarships help eligible K–12 students cover qualified elementary and secondary education expenses.
Good to know: Texas has made an advance election to participate for 2027. Each SGO must also be included on the state list submitted to the IRS.

No. Applications are not open. The federal credit begins in 2027, and SSI must complete its SGO listing and program preparations before accepting applications.
Do not assume that it will at this stage. A Section 25F contribution must meet federal requirements and be made to an organization included on the applicable state’s official SGO list for the year.
Federal law generally covers K–12 students eligible to enroll in public school whose household income is within the program limit. Final SSI eligibility and verification details will be shared before applications open.
